Area Sales Manager (US)

Job Description

We are looking for a dynamic, results-orientated Area Sales Manager capable of leading our sales efforts in the US market.

Ideally, the candidate should have a proven track record of growing sales and building strong, lasting relationships with customers. Experience in the spirits packaging sector is an advantage, but not mandatory.

This role requires a candidate with a strategic and dynamic vision, capable of implementing effective sales tactics to achieve objectives and expand J.A.Beira’s presence in the market. The candidate will play a strategic role in business growth and development.

The candidate must live in the geographical areas mentioned – Portugal and/or the US – and must be available to travel and explore the American market in person.

Main Roles and Responsibilities

The candidate will be responsible for the following assignments:

  • Sales Strategy:
    • Developing and implementing a sales strategy for the American market, in line with the company’s goals and objectives.

 

  • Market expansion:
    • Identifying new business opportunities and potential customers in the spirits sector, with a particular focus on luxury packaging and the assigned region.
    • Collaborating with the marketing team to create specific campaigns and promotional initiatives to increase brand awareness and customer engagement in this market.
    • Developing and promoting strategic partnerships with key stakeholders.
    • Taking part in trade fairs and events relevant to the market.

 

  • Customer Relationship Management:
    • Creating and maintaining solid relationships with clients, understanding their needs, and providing solutions tailored to their requirements.
    • Directly managing the various customer requests/needs, proactively addressing customer concerns, resolving problems, and ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction.
    • Create customised solutions for the client, collaborating with the Design Department and the New Project Development Department.
    • Negotiating agreements and monitoring customer/buyer satisfaction.
    • Hold regular meetings and presentations with customers to communicate product offers, updates and value propositions.

 

  • Analysing Sales Performance:
    • Monitor sales metrics, market trends and the competitive landscape to identify growth opportunities and potential challenges.
    • Preparing and presenting detailed sales reports, describing results, forecasts, and recommended strategies to improve the situation.

 

  • Strategic planning:
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide information and input for product development, pricing strategies and market positioning.
    • Contribute to the creation of annual sales budgets and forecasts, ensuring alignment with the company’s overall objectives.

 

Requirements:

  • Proven experience of at least 5 years in sales management in industrial companies, with a demonstrated ability to achieve sales targets.
  • Experience in the market will be highly valued.

Language skills:

  • Good knowledge of the English language.
  • Knowledge of French would be valued.

 

Soft Skills:

  • Interpersonal and communication skills to build and maintain relationships with clients.
  • Excellent negotiation, presentation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strategic thinking skills to analyse market trends and develop effective sales strategies.
